Would you like to join a supportive and energetic team? Anexciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Adult Speech and Language Therapist at West Middlesex University Hospital.

The post is based on the acute stroke unit. The successful candidate will be supported to complete their dysphagia and newly qualified practitioner competencies and will be provided the opportunity to develop expertise in videofluoroscopy, as appropriate.

Our team has a passion for quality improvement and we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about service development. We offer regular peer support, clinical supervision, CPD and team meetings. The successful candidate will have ample opportunities to be involved in audits, teaching & training and other service promotion projects.

The post-holder will receive direct supervision and support from a senior SLT working in the same clinical specialism.

Main duties of the job

This is a full time post within the adult Speech & Language Therapy Team, providing a service to adult inpatients within the Trust. The post holder will work to become an autonomous practitioner, providing Speech and Language Therapy services to the stroke unit at West Middlesex University Hospital.

The post holder will be provided the required support and development to enable them to manage a caseload of adult inpatients independently, providing advice regarding swallowing and communication. They will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will be expected to contribute to collaborative working with patients, carers, and colleagues.

The post holder will participate in team meetings, working parties and contribute to departmental / team audits. They will be required to deliver training within the hospital setting to other professionals, patients and carers.
