Job summary
An exciting opportunity has come for enthusiastic Band 5 Radiographers to join our team. The post-holder will be expected to produce high quality images to assist in diagnosis and treatment. They will fulfil the requirements of their role within the Imaging team.
The X-ray department provides a 24 hour emergency service and operates an out of hour service. The successful candidate will work a variety of shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends and Bank Holidays.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be expected to produce high quality images to assist in diagnosis and treatment. They will fulfill the requirements of their role within the Imaging team.
Core hours:
The successful applicants will be required to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.
Core hours will be worked on a rotational basis - 7 day working week

- To undertake all radiographic duties efficiently and to a high standard.
- To ensure that patients receive a high standard of care.
- To be conversant with the routine procedures in all general and screening rooms, casualty and mobile and theatre radiography.
- To assist with the practical training of student radiographers.
- To communicate with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the Department.
- To ensure that the Radiation Protection guidelines, IR (ME) R guidelines and local rules are strictly adhered to.
- To ensure that the rules and procedures of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 are strictly adhered to, and that all working areas are kept clean and safe.
- To participate in the departmental quality assurance programmes as required.
- To report and record all equipment faults.
- To participate in the on call and stand by rotas as required.
- To undertake any other duties which may be appropriate to the post.
- To offer an initial assessment and interpretation of images produced in the course of their role.
- To comply with, and be able to demonstrate and instruct, safe manual handling techniques.
- To comply with and be able to demonstrate safe infection control measures.

- To maintain a commitment to, and take responsibility for personal development utilising principles of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
