Chelsea and Westminster Hospital SiteWe have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 physiotherapist to join our general rotations within the therapy department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. The rotations are six months in length and involve working in a wide variety of clinical areas. These include Respiratory, Paediatrics, Burns, HIV/Oncology, Orthopaedics, Medical Rehabilitation, ED and Acute Medicine and Neurology.

You will have prior experience working in a variety of acute, rehabilitation and outpatient settings and experience working as an autonomous practitioner. Previous experience in respiratory physiotherapy, including working in a critical care setting is essential. Applications without the essential criteria will not be considered for the post

Main duties of the job

They will be a role model for expert clinical care, and lead on specific projects / service developments and management functions asdelegated by the Band 7 therapist or Clinical Lead Therapist.

They will role model the identified Trust values at all times.

The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner in providing physiotherapy assessment, treatment and management to their own designated caseload of patients and to maintain up to date physiotherapy records.

They will evidence based principles and current best practise to assess, plan, implement and evaluate physiotherapy interventions.

The post holder will provide supervision, teaching and support to more junior staff, therapy assistants and students on placement.

The post holder is expected to actively participate in the 5 in 7 weekend rota and respiratory on-call rota

Essential

  • BSc or Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD since qualification

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Evidence of a broad range of clinical experience as a qualified therapist in acute and general medicine, ITU, surgery, respiratory, orthopaedics, neurology and rehabilitation
  • Participation in emergency on-call and weekend services
  • Experience of working as part of an MDT in clinical practice
  • Evidence of active participation in in-service training
  • Experience of providing respiratory physiotherapy including on critical care, acute medical and surgical wards
  • Experience as a qualified Physiotherapist in an acute inpatient hospital setting

Desirable

  • Evidence of clinical experience as a qualified therapist in other settings such as musculoskeletal outpatients, community and paediatrics
