Job summary
The role of Head of Operational Programme Delivery is to lead the Estates & Facilities Capital Project Team.
The Head of the Capital Programme Delivery has a crucial leadership role in the delivery of a high Capital Project Plan and oversight of major strategic projects and programmes affecting the delivery across the Trust. An expert facilitator and leader, the post holder will identify areas for opportunity, using internal data and benchmarking to ensure we are focusing on the highest priority areas.
The post holder must be professionally accountable for estates project construction and implementation of delegated Schemes within the Trust's Investment Programme to improve the environment for patients and staff.
The post holder will use their excellent facilitation and delivery skills to identify and unblock risks and issues, recognise interdependencies between Divisions and drive progress towards delivery. They will be sensitive to the issues and changing needs of the Trust. This role is crucial for creating and maintaining focus, enthusiasm and momentum on the key operational changes that will make the biggest difference to our patients and staff.
The post holder will have responsibility for covering the Chelsea, West Middlesex, and Mount Vernon sites.
Main duties of the job
o Act as a specialist professional within the Estates Department, contributing expert knowledge and leadership.o Use internal performance data and external benchmarking to identify and drive operational improvements.o Collaborate across Estates & Facilities to identify opportunities for pathway redesign, mutual aid, and integrated service delivery.o Maintain a deep understanding of national operational priorities and translate their impact into actionable insights across the Trust.o Lead the development of a rolling five-year activity plan aligned with the Trust's Strategic Objectives and Estates & Facilities strategy, aimed at reducing waiting list size and restoring pre-pandemic service levels.o Work in partnership with divisional colleagues to support targeted services through a structured rolling programme.o Contribute to the planning and development of major strategic projects and programmes that impact clinical services.o Oversee the design and implementation of key operational projects across all Divisions, ensuring alignment with projected benefits and supporting delivery through close collaboration with operational teams.
