We have an exciting opportunity to join our IT Team and work in the SQL team, supporting our Microsoft SQL and Server estate. As part of a team you will work with High Availability and Business critical systems, supporting the Trusts Database performance, security and ensuring that downtime is kept to a minimum
You will be key to the project and Business As Usual support as well as working on parts of the strategic change programme for project related rollouts and upgrades, working to business processes and agreed SLA's . The post holder will be responsible for implementation and management of SQL database systems across the Trust
Main duties of the job
With a strong background in Database Administration, you will have practical experience of working with High Availability and Business critical systems, supporting Database performance, security and ensuring that downtime is kept to a minimum. You will be responsible for the day to day support and administration of the full SQL Server technology stack including engineering and all SQL Server database related projects.
You will have the opportunity to learn and develop with a dedicated training programme and an established professional development process. Primarily working within a small, collaborative team, you will also work with colleagues across a range of disciplines to help deliver a robust and innovative platform to support clinical services.
The Senior SQL Analyst will report to the Data Centre Manager and be responsible for the implementation and administration of environments which run on MS SQL Server as well as the multipurpose SQL Servers. The post holder will be required to be proactive in terms of responding to issues, engaging in capacity planning exercises, collaborating across the technical teams as well as suppliers, automating processes where possible, and participating in DR and business continuity tests.
