Job summary

Are you passionate about using data to help service managers, clinicians and operational teams deliver effective and high-quality services that make real difference to patients and service users?

This role will involve working closely with operational services to build solutions to continuously develop reporting systems and applications to help meet the various challenges across the hospital sites.

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Band 7 Foundry Developer to join us and make substantial contributions to this work. The role will involve using your experience, skills and initiative to implement complex solutions, build datasets, analytical and reporting dashboards to provide insights that will enable clinical and operational services to monitor their operations, enhance prcoesses and improve their performance.

As a cross functional team, you may be required to pick up tasks in any area or division at any time.

Main duties of the job

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business objectives and translate them into actionable data projects; specifically with business users to identify critical questions, pain points, and challenges they face.
  • Scope and analyse business problems to develop solutions that deliver measurable business value, going beyond a mere checklist of technical requirements.
  • Utilise Palantir Foundry platform and other relevant tools to gather, analyze, and process large-scale datasets.
  • Design applications and ontology based on business requirements
  • Develop and work alongside Data Warehouse teams to deploy scalable data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, quality, and reliability.
  • Communicate findings and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, enabling them to make informed business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for turning exploratory or analytical applications into interactive operational workflows to drive business value
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science and emerging technologies, and proactively identify opportunities to apply them to business challenges.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provide services from two main hospitals, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital, and a number of clinics across London and the South-East.

  • To analyse and present data as dashboards and reports fundamental to the operation of the department.
Communication
  • To communicate effectively with clinicians and managers on matters associated with the system design and development of solutions.
  • To work with colleagues to plan and develop training programmes to train staff in the use and capabilities of relevant application systems and BI tools.
  • To ensure that the skills and knowledge base of staff in the information management and data quality teams are up to date and evolve to meet challenging circumstances.
  • To present, provide and receive highly complex information to a wide range of stakeholders in a formal setting.
