Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust are now looking to appoint our next cohort of Undergraduate Education Fellows for 2025-2026
These highly popular posts are an exciting opportunity for junior doctors to formally develop their medical education experience for those who want to make a commitment to education as part of their career.
This one year fixed term 'out of programme' post is based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital (CW) and is fully supervised. Suitable candidates should aim to use the year to build on their personal teaching experience, develop expertise in education theory and practice and undertake supervised educational research.
Please note you should only apply for the post if the following criteria are met:
- Fully GMC registered
- An FY2-StR in a recognised specialty training programme. By the time of taking up the post will have completed 1 year (WTE) or more of an approved training programme and able to apply for OOPE or between training programmes.
- Able to commence the post from August 2025 (1 year fixed term) - some flexibility may be afforded here depending on speciality rotation dates.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicants should aim to use the year to build on their personal teaching experience, develop expertise in education theory and practice and undertake supervised educational research.
Clinical work is encouraged if wanted. Each post includes the opportunity for one half or whole day for this purpose, the nature of which is flexible, to allow exploration of areas or interest or to develop further commitment to a chosen specialty. There is no mandatory on-call work.
