Job summary

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking to appoint Postgraduate Education Fellows for 2025 - 2026! These posts are an exciting opportunity for junior doctors to formally develop their medical education experience and for those who want to make a commitment to education as part of their career. Clinical opportunities within the post are available.

These are one-year fixed term 'out of programme' posts, based either at the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital site or the West Middlesex Hospital site commencing anytime between August - October 2025.

Roles include:

  1. Postgraduate Medical Education Fellows (either site)
  2. Respiratory Education Fellow (Chelsea Hospital Site)
  3. Junior Doctor Support and Patient Safety Fellow (cross-site)
  4. Digital Education Fellow (Chelsea Hospital Site)
  5. Postgraduate Education Leading through Education for Excellent Patient Care (LEEP) fellow (West Middlesex Hospital site)

Please note you should only apply for the post if the following criteria are met:

  • Fully GMC registered.
  • Have significant experience of working in the NHS.
  • At a more senior level of training than IMT2/CT2.
  • Able to attend either virtual or face-to-face interview if shortlisted - anticipated 9th April 2025.
  • Able to take post anywhere between August - October 2025 for a 1-year fixed term post - some flexibility may be afforded here depending on speciality rotation dates and post appointed to.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicants should aim to use the year to build on their personal teaching experience, develop expertise in education theory and practice and undertake supervised educational research.

Clinical work is possible if wanted. Each post includes the opportunity for one half or whole day for this purpose, the nature of which is flexible, to allow exploration of areas or interest or to develop further commitment to a chosen specialty. There is no mandatory on-call work if clinical work is undertaken.
