Assistant Psychologist

Job summary

The successful candidate will assist with the everyday running of the pain service and its therapy interventions. This will include 1; 1 assessment and supervised interventions, cofacilitating group work, meetings, in service training, managing the spinal cord stimulator data base and other duties as required to facilitate the everyday working of the department.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking candidates with the following qualities

Experience working within a clinical psychology department or related field e.g. social work, Care work, research.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Competent in research and statistics.

Good computing ability

Ability to work with initiative but seek advice where appropriate

Adaptable and flexible in approach

Self-motivating

Interest in a career in clinical psychology

Commitment to gaining further knowledge and training in this area.

To assist in the evaluation of various components/ groups that we offer at the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. These components will include data collection and analysis. This will include managing and analysing the data bank for the spinal cord stimulator services (supervised by Daniel Board specialist physiotherapist).

  • Honours degree in Psychology (2.2 or above)
  • Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the BPS

Desirable

  • Honours degree in Psychology (2.1 or above)
  • Other evidence of academic/intellectual strength

Experience

  • Relevant experience which demonstrates application of psychological principles in practice
  • Ability to reflect on previous/current work experience as applied to the role of an assistant psychologist

Desirable

  • Work experience within the NHS.
