SACT Scheduler (Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment) / Administrator

Job summary

The Gazzard Day Unit (GDU) SACT (Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment) Scheduler is an integral member of the Gazzard Day unit and will work under the supervision of the Senior Charge Nurse. The post holder will coordinate all administrative aspects of GDU, covering both HIV and Cancer services, including scheduling and coordinating the provision of SACT, HIV care, capacity management, some clerical duties and data collection and also have managerial responsibilities for band 3 admin staff in GDU.

Main duties of the job

To deal with all new SACT referrals from clinicians, ensuring the first SACT is scheduled within Cancer Waiting Time targets

To liaise directly with the patient regarding their bookings for first SACT and subsequent treatments - providing information and reassurance.

To schedule all SACT treatment on GDU in line with local guidelines and protocols.

To manage, amend and maintain the electronic SACT diary and ChemoCare, in order to ensure treatment scheduling

To closely liaise with the CNS and teams in arranging venous access, prior to commencing SACT

  • Educated to A level, NVQ level 4 in Business and Administration or equivalent experience
  • English and Mathematics GCSE or equivalent

  • Qualification in Management such as First Line Managers up to certificate level

  • Demonstrable experience of working in an administrative role in a busy office environment
