Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a senior clinical fellow (middle grade) to this exciting post in the Paediatric Neurology at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, starting as soon as possible on a fixed term contract for six months (extendable).
The post provides an excellent opportunity to develop and expand clinical skills in all areas of paediatric neurology and is suitable for those not currently in the training programme as well as for trainees looking for out of programme experience or want to start a special interest module (SPIN). The successful candidate will be working with the Paediatric Neurology team, covering outpatient clinics, in patient reviews and day case assessments, will liaise with teams from other referring hospitals and will participate in 1 in 10 out of hours middle-grade rota providing cover to the general paediatric inpatients and emergency admissions
Main duties of the job
The paediatric neurology department provides tertiary paediatric neurology service. It is part of an integrated paediatric department, based at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and works in close collaboration with the general and specialist paediatric teams. The team consists of specialist Paediatric Neurology Consultants, a paediatric epilepsy specialist nurse and consultants with specialist interest in paediatric epilepsy and headache. Diagnostic facilities including pathology, electrophysiology and radiology are available on site and the imaging department provides a full range of services including CT and MRI scanning, supported by paediatric anaesthetics.
We work in a close collaboration with the tertiary neurology team at St Mary's Hospital. We have weekly MDT neuro-radiology meetings with our paediatric neuroradiology consultants and weekly MDT neuro-physiology meetings with our neuro-physiology consultant and neuro-physiologists.
