Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a full-time (10PA) Locum Consultant in HIV and GU Medicine at 10 Hammersmith Broadway (10HB), Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in a six-month post.
The role is based primarily within 10HB, with one day per week (two PAs) in the Clinical Research Facility (CRF) at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The post has been designed to offer experience of the Consultant and research roles within a busy London Trust, supported by a large multidisciplinary team. The successful post-holder will have a senior role within the clinic. They will supervise, support and help to develop our friendly team. They will deliver screening, diagnosis, treatment and prevention strategies to patients affected by STIs. They will be expected to be competent to deliver all methods of contraception, including LARC, and to advance the provision of fully integrated sexual health services, with a focus on improving access and care post-pandemic. The post holder will also be expected to manage their own cohort of people living with HIV, and to support unscheduled care needs for all registered patients.
10HB has an established research portfolio and the post-holder will be encouraged to contribute to in-house study recruitment and (should they wish) take on a local PI role. There are two dedicated research PAs within the job plan, affording the post-holder greater exposure to formal research experience within the CRF at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, which runs a diverse and active portfolio ranging from phase 1 interventional studies to observational research.
