Staff Nurse - Renal Dialysis

Job summary

An exciting opportunity for a band 5 nurse to join a dynamic, motivated team of renal nurses who deliver a high standard of specialist outpatient care.

You will be working in a friendly and supportive environment providing comprehensive care and support to dialysis dependent patientsWe currently have 12 stations running 07:00 - midnight Monday ,Wednesday and Friday and 07:00 to 19:00 - Tuesday , Thursday and Saturday .

Main duties of the job

- Set up dialysis machine according to patient prescription- Band 5 nurses will assess patients before dialysis- Calculate and set dialysis prescription on the dialysis machine- Use ANTT technique as per Trust protocol- Access vascular access and commenced dialysis treatment- Deliver prescribed IV medication via dialysis machine- Monitor patients during treatment- Troubleshoot any alarms during treatment- Discontinue and disconnect patient at end of dialysis- Document treatment on CyberREN and other Trust systems- Clean dialysis area as per Trust protocol- Collect monthly blood samples- Check and report results of monthly blood samples- Work with members of the MDT- Audit patient outcomes monthly and discuss with patient and MDT
