Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and visionary nurse leader to join us as the Assistant Director of Nursing for Acuter Medicine Site and Flow at University Hospitals of Liverpool Group. The successful post holder will work along side the Senior Nursing and Operational Team to provide professional leadership and expertise within the service, to lead, develop and transform the flow function across the site, while being the patient and family advocate, upholding professional standards and providing support, guidance and leadership across the whole site.

This pivotal role will support the Trust in delivering great patient care and maintaining our position at the forefront of healthcare excellence. As a forward-thinking and dynamic healthcare provider dedicated to offering the highest standards of care to our patients, service users, and the local community.

As the Assistant Director of Nursing for Acute Medicine, Site and Flow, you will be responsible for leading and managing the operational nursing function across the service, ensuring that the highest professional standards are maintained at all times. You will work closely with the Clinical, Operational, Nursing and Therapy leads, especially the discharge teams and will facilitate the efficient and effective management of patients and flow across the site.

Main duties of the job

The Assistant Director of Nursing willdevelopandmaintainacomprehensiveknowledgeandanalysis of health, serviceandpolicies,guidanceanddevelopments, working with other members of the divisional, care group and the departmentalsenior management teamstotranslate national, regional and local drivers intoaction.

The successful post holder will provide professional nursing leadership and expertise within the service, acting as a role model for other nursing colleagues. The successful post holder will establish close working relationships with the other nursing and multi professional teams to ensure delivery of outcomes.

In addition, the post holder will develop and implement innovative and integrated approaches to nursing and service developments and processes, focused on patient need to improve the patient's journey.
