Job summary

To assist the Medical Staffing Manager with the smooth running of the Division of Surgery Medical Staffing Department. Production and co-ordination of the 24 hour medical staff cover for the Orthopaedic Care Group ensuring there is 24 hour medical cover where required through compliant rotas in line with the New Deal and European Working Time Directives.

Main duties of the job

Coordination of a range of medical staff rotas. Monitor rotas to ensure appropriate levels of cover .

Support clinical directors and HOOP with Consultant and junior doctors leave through the Health Roster.

Ensure that relevant staff and departments are kept up to date with leave booked by regular production and circulaton of necessary information.

To undertake all administrative duties in the Recruitment of Medical Staff, in liaison with clinical leads, CBM and Recruitment Services. .

Administrative support as and when required

Coordination of the induction process for medical juniors and new starters.

Arrange for completion of Local Induction checklists.

Maintain personnel files for all medical staff, recoding annual, study and professional leave booked, including the recording and monitoring of any sickness absences and take appropriate action, supporting the clinical leads and HOOP.

Completion of electronic sickness absence records for all Medical staffing.

Coordinate Clinical Observer and Clinical Attachment appointments for overseas doctors as required.

Administration of a range of medical staffing courses, conferences and training s

Attend meetings as and when required providing updates on medical staffing issues

Responsible for providing information to CBM and completion of vacancy and change forms for medial staff contract changes.

To act as a communication resource for Consultants and all junior doctors within the Orthopaedic Care Grouop

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordination of a range of medical staff rotas for Surgical Division dealing with day to day queries regarding rotas/emergency on-call. Monitor on a daily basis to ensure appropriate levels of cover - reporting any problems to the Medical Staffing Manager.

Health Roster Support clinical directors and clinican business unit manager with Consultant and junior doctors leave through the Health Roster electronic system, cancellation of commitments and .rota coordination reporting any probems to the Medical Staffing Manager..

Ensure that relevant staff and departments are kept up to date with leave booked by regular production and circulaton of necessary information.

Liaise with Nurse Bank (Medical Staffing) to coordinate appropriate locum cover available for any absences that cannot be cross covered internally. Submit CVs of Agency locums to clinical leads and seek Consultant and CMB approval prior to confirming bookings. Notify relevant disciplines of locum cover.

Recruitment To undertake all administrative duties in the Recruitment of Medical Staff, in liaison with clinical leads, CBM and Recruitment Services, utilising the TRAC electronic recruitment system reporting any delays or problems.

Coordination of Information Packs and relevant information for incoming medical staff and organise their inductions and training.

Provide admisatrative support for audit for the Head & Neck Clinical Business Unitarrnaging sponsors, produce agendas and take notes of meetings.

Provide CBM with adminatrative services as and when required
