Project Office Administrator - National Cancer Audit Lead

Job summary

This post is open to employees of the five LAASP organisations. We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic, and proactive individual to join our team as a Project Officer supporting the National Cancer Audit Lead.

You will contribute to a high-profile national programme that aims to improve cancer services and outcomes across the NHS. Working alongside clinical leads, data analysts, and wider project teams, you will help coordinate and deliver key aspects of the audit programme.

The role involves a variety of tasks including organising meetings, managing project documentation, coordinating communications, maintaining audit timelines, and supporting reporting processes. You will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day project activity and be a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

This role would suit someone with excellent organisational and communication skills, good attention to detail, and a keen interest in supporting quality improvement and clinical audit. Previous experience in a healthcare, project support, or administrative role is desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and project support to the National Cancer Audit Lead and team.

  • Coordinate meetings, maintain project documentation, and track progress against key milestones.

  • Act as a point of contact for stakeholders and support communications including reports and briefings.

  • Assist with basic data collation and ensure accurate handling of information in line with governance policies.

  • Support governance meetings with agenda setting, minute-taking, and follow-up of actions.

  • Help maintain audit compliance, document control, and audit trail processes.

  • Undertake other tasks as required to support the delivery of the audit programme.
