Meet & Greet/Wayfinding Volunteer - Aintree Site

Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals Foundation Trust is looking to recruit volunteers in various roles in order to enhance patient experience and support staff. We are looking for volunteers at Aintree Hospital.

Main duties of the job

As a Meet & Greet/Wayfinding Volunteer, your duties will be varied and extensive including:

  • Help improve patient experience by providing a friendly welcome, emotional support, reassurance and companionship to patients and their families.
  • Give directions to patients and visitors as they arrive on site and escort those who need additional support to their destination.
  • Support patients and visitors with infection control guidance and PPE (personal protective equipment.) - Asking them to wear a face covering, gel their hands and follow social distancing guidelines.
  • Replenish the hospitals PPE stations and alert the volunteer office if you have ran out of supplies.
  • Collecting and delivering miscellaneous items between departments as request by the volunteer office.
  • Support the hospital in obtaining feedback from patients and their families on their experience.
  • Completing basic tasks and assisting patients within the Volunteer Role Boundaries.
  • Providing companionship and reassurance to patients who are waiting to be collected from hospital via ambulance.
  • Acting as an "alerter "to escalate any concerns/issues to the reception team.
