Job summary

A new and exciting position has become available to work in the Acute Inpatient Therapy Team at Aintree as a Neuro-outlier Occupational Therapist.

You will work closely with the AHP team and the wider MDT covering a neuro outlier caseload as well as supporting band 5 Occupational Therapists to achieve their neurological assessment skills. You will be closely working with very experienced Physiotherapists and TA's. You will be supported by the Band 7 OT in the Acute Inpatient Therapy Team

This post is suitable for an Occupational Therapist that has experience working with patients with neurological conditions and has a keen interest in teaching and supporting and upskilling junior staff.

Main duties of the job

To support the Neuro Outlier Service by providing key OT assessment and treatment plans for patients in the Aintree Medicine bed base.

To provide support to therapists in the acute inpatient therapy team.

To manage a caseload of neurologically impaired patients.

To manage desiganted case load with complex needs using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan implement and evaluate interventions.

Maintain records which fulfil legal requirements

To regularly superise OT students

To provide leadership for junior staff , through supervision and performance reviews.

To participate in the planning, devleopment and evauation of OT neuro outlier service.

To contribute to the maintenance and development of the Trust OT service.
