Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Associate to join a dynamic, motivated team of renal nurses who deliver a high standard of specialist care to outpatients attending for kidney dialysis treatment.You will be working in a friendly and supportive environment and will be supported and trained under the supervision of our experienced renal team.We currently have 24 stations running 3 shifts a day (07:00 - midnight) Monday to Saturdays. The unit is closed on Sundays.Applicants will work a mix of shifts including short and long days and twilight shifts.
Applicants must have completed, as a minimum, the Level 3 Health & Social care Diploma (or equivalent) and will be required to undertake the Level 5 Assistant Practitioner diploma (or equivalent) if they do not currently hold either the Level 5 Health and Social Care Diploma or Nurse Associate qualification.
International Dialysis Technician qualification accepted.
Full training given.
Applicants will have worked in a hospital setting for a minimum of 12 months, and have experience in acute patient care.

Main duties of the job
The Dialysis Assistant will function at a higher level of competency than that of other health care assistants. They will have responsibility for actively participating as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with proximal supervision from a registered nurse, in providing a holistic renal replacement therapy to our dialysis patients.

Perform patient assessment (under supervision and after appropriate delegation from the registered practitioner), plan and deliver high standards of care.
