Job summary

Endoscopy Manager

The post holder will provide expertise in clinical practise, professional leadership, education and consultancy in all aspects of the field of Endoscopy Services. The post holder will work closely with the Directorate Manager to the deliver the NHS diagnostic, Cancer Access and elective access targets, ensuring services are re-designed to meet the target deadlines.

Collaborative working with the Clinical Director and Directorate Manager and other Trust teams will deliver improved quality standards for both staff and patients to a sustainable and high standard.

Main duties of the job

  • Continually monitor quality of care provision and initiate remedial action where necessary.
  • Provide visible high level support and assistance to staff in dealing with difficult situations / conflicts and other professional / clinical issues.
  • leadership to the whole Endoscopy nursing team and across the Clinical Business Unit.
  • Review staffing establishments and skill mix with the Endoscopy service Manager to ensure safe staffing within budgetary provision.
  • Proactively participate in the prevention and investigation of complaints and take constructive action to change practise where necessary.
  • Implement and work within the Trust Human Resource policies on all staffing matters including sickness and absence management and disciplinary and capability issues.
  • Take a lead role in the recruitment and selection of staff. Develop, implement and maintain a competency based training programme for all staff working within the Endoscopy.
