An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 nurse to join our team. This is an exciting dual role offering the opportunity to combine clinical expertise as a Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpa (TTP) Clinical Nurse Specialist and providing innovative research as part of the Clinical Haematology Research team.

LUFHT is the one of nine regional specialist centres that treat the rare disease Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP) in England. We are commissioned by NHS England to treat all cases of TTP and provide inpatient care for TTP, as well as long-term monitoring to prevent TTP relapse

Main duties of the job

Within the TTP Clinical Nurse Specialist role, the post holder would support patients from emergency admission through a lifelong pathway of follow up and treatment.

There will be opportunities to build knowledge in non-malignant haematology, the CNS role, and clinical skills with support from the Band 7 CNS.

As the Research Clinical Nurse Specialist, part of this role will be responsible for the day to day running of Haematology research studies including screening of potential patients, recruiting patients into studies according to agreed protocols, assisting in the informed consent process and management of all the study related data.

All clinical research activity must be compliant and conducted in accordance with European Union (EU) Directive, ICH/GCP International Conference on Harmonisation and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
