Catering Assistant

Band 2

The following Catering Assistant vacancies have become available at Liverpool University Hospital. Although the jobs are primarily based in the unit advertised, you may be required to work anywhere within the catering department depending on the needs of the service. This could include the Royal site & Broadgreen.

IT skills are required for all positions as the Trust does mandatory training and yearly appraisals online. You will be required to study for your level 2 food hygiene certificate, Level 2 food allergen training and NVQ 2

We are looking for staff who are self motivated and can work in a team or on their own unsupervised. We require staff who are flexible and open to change to join our catering team. These positions will be based in a busy hospital, you may be moved as the needs of the service requires, also you may be required to work Bank holidays including Christmas Day

Main duties of the job

Tower Block

09.00-15.00

Monday, saturday, sunday

The Tower Block is the patients kitchen, the duties include collecting patients menus on the wards, stock issues, stock control, belt service, dish washing, pan washing and kitchen cleaning.

The shift available is mainly working on the conveyor belt plating up patients meals, and working on an industrial dishwasher.

The job involves standing for long period of times and repetitive movements. The environment is hot and humid.

The role may include front of house in retail units which will include using the till. Training will be given. Experience of industrial catering is required.
