Job summary

Please note: this vacancy will accept applicants from either a physiotherapy or exercise physiology background. Please see respective job description and person specification for the different professions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patients' needs and tailoring exercise prescription for individuals with various heart conditions. They will be pivotal in helping with the health and wellbeing of our patients and maximising their cardiac fitness potential. The role will involve working as an autonomous practitioner as well as part of the cardiac rehab team. This will be in hospital and community settings, as well as telephone clinics and patients homes.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in exercise science, physiology and anatomy and be able to use this knowledge to create safe and effective exercise programmes for clients with cardiac conditions. They must have experience in cardiac rehab and be qualified to degree level in Exercise Physiology, or physiotherapy. The candidate should possess excellent communication skills and have a passion for helping others achieve fitness and wellness goals.

This post is non rotational, the successful candidate will work exclusively within the Cardiac Rehab team.

Main duties of the job

Develop and implement safe and individualised exercise programmes for patients with cardiac conditions.
