Pharmacy (Aseptic Services) Stores Team Leader

Band 4 (37.5 hours per week)

We are a major acute teaching Trust offering a wide range of clinical specialities, including tertiary referrals for HIV and Renal Medicine. Pharmacy services are well developed and deliver high quality Medicines Management.

We have a highly regarded Aseptic Production Unit (APU) at the Trust and we moved into our brand-new Manufacturing Site in 2023 .

You will work closely with our Aseptic Service Leads to help in the provision and maintenance of an effective service with respect to the Aseptics store functions. You will oversee the day to day operations of the Aseptic Unit's stock management system.

The role involves overseeing the team of assistants working within the stores area.

Main duties of the job

Supervising a team and creating weekly rotas.

Overseeing the receipt and supply of orders and medicines.

To provide an effective service with respect to departments stores functions, including investigating and resolving a range of problems.

To co-operate with all pharmacy staff in providing and developing an efficient and comprehensive aseptic pharmaceutical stores service.

  • NVQ 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
  • GCSE's or equivalent (C or above) in English and Maths

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience within a store / procurement role
  • Experience and understanding of stock management processes and stock takes

Desirable

  • Experience in Pharmacy / Pharmacy aseptic services stores and procurement
  • Experience of training and development of staff
  • Experience of involvement in producing and evaluating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of Trust financial procedures and practices (Pharmacy Stock Management)
  • Knowledge of hospital procurement service including ordering and stock control
  • Knowledge of audits and risk assessments
  • Demonstrates an understanding of Health and Safety policies and standards

Desirable

  • Knowledge of national and trust wide initiatives regarding pharmaceutical supplies
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) surrounding Pharmaceutical Manufacture
