Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Full-time Housekeeper to join our team, here in the Endoscopy Department.

Based at our Broadgreen Diagnostic Hub, you will be the patient's first point of contact when attending the for their endoscopy appointment, ensuring that they are attended promptly on our Patient Administration System (IPM) and that they are fully supported in their attendance (interpreters are booked, patient information leaflets are available, general queries are answered etc).

You will be responsible for stock management and will liaise with the Endoscopy department at the Royal site to ensure delivery and transport of stock/kit between sites. You will ensure that the main reception area is always clean and presentable and that any maintenance issues are reported immediately to the Estates team.You will liaise with the ward sister to ensure all patient information is communicated clearly to interviewing nurses and that follow-up action is taken from the discharge team and communicated to the relevant teams

You will ensure patients have any assistance they require to eat and drink, in line with their dietary requirements before being discharged from the unit

Main duties of the job

To admit and discharge all patients for the Endoscopy unit and provide the necessary administrative support to ensure that a high quality service is provided at all times, thereby affecting a smooth and efficient running of the department.

Stock management and ordering of replacement items

Maintenance of the reception and surrounding patient-facing areas in the Diagnostic hub.

To work unsupervised but to be available to give advice to junior members of the team.

Ensuring patients have required support to enable their appointment (interpreter services, portering and transport coordination, etc)

Due to the nature of the work you will be IT literate, able to use most Office software and work unsupervised.

Previous experience in the health sector would be an advantage and excellent customer service, the ability to work as part of a team and work to tight deadlines is essential.

You will be expected to be flexible and support the department as and when the need arises.
