Job summary
This is a full time (10PA) fixed term NHS Consultant Post in Sexual Health for six months, with a view to extension or substantive appointment. The post holder will be employed by Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT). The post will be based within the Liverpool axess service (Hub clinic at Royal Liverpool University Hospital). We are seeking to recruit a Locum (Fixed term) Consultant with specialist skills in Genitourinary medicine/integrated sexual health (including outpatient HIV clinics, management of sexually transmitted infection & contraception). The appointee will contribute to the Clinical Governance programme within the wider axess sexual health service. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in research supported by our research lead and dedicated research nurse dependant on individuals experience and interest.

Main duties of the job
Axess Sexual Health Liverpool is the largest Sexual Health service provider in Cheshire & Merseyside.
Axess has a total annual attendance of approximately 83,000 patient contacts per year. The service is open 6 days a week and provides open access sexual health clinics. There are specialist clinics available for Young People, HIV, PrEP, men who have sex with men (MSM), Trans and non-binary people, Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) clinics, Complex contraception (including ultrasound), Genital Dermatology and sexual problems (Sexual Problems Service).
The appointment will be a fixed term (6 months) (10 PA) Consultant Physician in GU / Sexual Health, Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with office accommodation provided at axess Liverpool - Royal Liverpool Hospital.
The post is based at axess Liverpool (Linda McCartney Centre @ Royal Liverpool Hospital).
The appointee must hold the MRCP.
