Job summary
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Advanced Nurse Practitioner (band 8a) who is interested in joining our well-established Acute renal care team (ReACT) on a full-time basis. This role has been developed to work alongside medical team dealing with complex renal acute admissions including renal replacement therapy (dialysis) as well as providing renal outpatient ambulatory care pathway.
The post holder requires to work with high degree of autonomy and complex decision making as advanced care practitioner. This is underpinned by a master's level award or equivalent that encompasses the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education, and research, with demonstration of core capabilities and area specific clinical competence.
Post holder would be based at Royal Liverpool Hospital but expected to work cross sites and works at Aintree University hospital on rotation working along with renal consultant and registrar. The shift pattern would be 9 hours (example 8 am - 6 pm), 4 days a week.
Main duties of the job
- Providing clinical leadership and supervision to the Renal acute care team. The team consist of one ANP/ ACP (band 8a) and 5 Nurse practitioners (band 7)
- Managing complex renal admissions - acute kidney injury as well as advanced chronic kidney disease including dialysis, working along with renal medical team.
- Experience with renal replacement therapy (dialysis)
- Working in the nurse led clinics (renal ambulatory clinic) and be a non-medical prescriber.
- Leading and delivering acute kidney injury service and AKI care bundle for trust.
- The post holder would also require working over weekend (as per rota) at Royal Liverpool Hospital along with medical team.
- Delivering teaching, mentoring and supervision of other members of team in the clinical setting
- Participating in quality improvements.
- Providing support, education, and advocating for patients through personalised care planning.
- Providing leadership and innovation.
- Perform in compliance with the protocols and policies, peer review and clinical governance.
