Job summary

Exciting opportunities have arisen for band 7 Physiologists who are BHRS (or equivalent) qualified or Band 6 Physiologists looking for promotion, with suitable experience in either area, to assist in the planning and delivery of a specialised Cardio Respiratory service to the Trust.

You will be an effective member of the Cardio Respiratory team providing a high standard of Cardiac Physiological Services and excellent patient care.

We are now in our state of the art department encompassing over 20 clinical rooms. Purpose built pacemaker follow up rooms and a 'sterile' LINQ implant room. Being located on the emergency floor, adjacent to our acute cardiac unit and coronary care. The trust treats acutely unwell patients from across the region on our intensive care floor, as well as specialising in enhanced cardiac imaging/ MRI.

The successful candidate may enlist to be enrolled in a 9 day rolling working pattern between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

It is expected that the department will move to 7 - day working in the near future with the possibility of on call commitments.

Main duties of the job

The Pacing/ Rhythm management team provide:

  • Daily follow up clinics
  • Remote follow up,
  • A busy Brady implant service
  • Physiologist lead ILR implant service.
  • We are in the process of establishing a Physiologist ILR explant service.
  • Services to an acute A&E department including unwell complex device patients
  • A busy GP open access ECG reporting service, providing complex reports to GPs and other AHPs

As a band 7 you will be a designated line manager to junior staff, completing performance and pay appraisals. There are opportunities to help lead service development as a deputy service lead.
