Job summary
Applications are invited for a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon. The position is full-time, 10 sessions per week
This post is predominately based at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital site, although some cross site working may be required.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will join the existing team of ten breast consultants and three endocrine surgery consultants and will provide support to the symptomatic and screening services.
The post will involve the full service provision associated with a full time consultant including symptomatic and screening outpatient clinics, operating , MDTs, audit.
There would be a requirement to work flexibly and a proposed job plan is attached.

The proposed job plan may also include evening DCC activity, in line with all recent appointments and the requirements for an extended 7 day service for the planned new hospital. The agreed job plan will reflect seven day working and may involve some weekend working. The 10 PA contract comprises 8.5 DCC sessions and 1.5 SPA sessions.
Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full time is eligible to be considered for this post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content should be discussed on a personal basis with the employing authority in consultation with the Clinical Director.
Good communication skills, the ability to work as a team member and offer high standard of clinical opinion are an essential requirement
