Job summary
This is a new position within the Liverpool Breast Screening Programme, which calls 128,000 women for screening every 3 years.
The post holder will have responsibility for entering complex biopsy and surgical information and running reports as required by the National Health Service Breast Screening Programme.
Attention to detail and an understanding of data processes is essential. You will be part of a wide multi disciplinary team and must have excellent communication skills with staff at all levels.
Main duties of the job
- Assist in the process of completing data queries and other documentation.
- Access data/information from Trust information systems as required .
- Review and update patient results information on databases.
- Running database queries and providing reports as requested.
- Liaise directly with outside agencies and external bodies.
- Ensure databases are up to date.
- Deal efficiently with enquiries from other departments or hospitals.
- Arrange appointments in the appropriate clinic
- Deal with enquiries in a professional and capable manner, reporting any concerns directly to the relevant person.
- To deal with complaints and to ensure that they are referred to the appropriate department without delay.
- To carry out the collection of data and accurate completion of documentation as appropriate.
- Ensure that all results are presented to relevant members of staff and subsequently filed.
- Exercise independent judgement and initiative when problems arise by taking appropriate action to resolve the problem, or by referring the problem to the appropriate person.
- Liaise with all staff concerned within breast services e.g. clinicians, specialist nurses, hospital management, and other members of the clerical and admin team.
- To provide administrative support to the High Risk Co-ordinator to ensure that the programme is delivered in a timely manner.
