Job summary

We are looking to appoint an exceptional safeguarding nurse leader to join our corporate senior team.

You will be integral to your own team, working with them and the wider divisional and corporate teams to ensure delivery of the Trusts safeguarding strategy.

Extensive experience of safeguarding at a senior level and relevant senior leadership experience in a complex and changing environment is essential.

Main duties of the job

Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Nurse, the post holder will provide strategic leadership for safeguarding vulnerable people across the Trust and ensure that the Trust meets its statutory and regulatory obligations. You will ensure that the highest standards of safeguarding adults and children are delivered in line with national, regional and local policy and guidance.

You will ensure appropriate safeguarding governance systems are in place, and provide a key leadership role in responding to the requirements of the regulators including CQC and Monitor as well as professional bodies. You will work closely with the Director of Clinical Governance to oversee the Trust's compliance with CQC standards relevant to the portfolio and establish systems to ensure that the nursing care needs of vulnerable people are met compassionately in hospital and community settings.

You will be solution focused, driving improvements and ensuring robust practices are in place to deliver excellence across the safeguarding portfolio.

  • First level degree or equivalent level of experience
  • Masters degree - relevant discipline
