We are looking to appoint a highly enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy Microbiology team within the Quality Control laboratories. The successful candidate should be educated to B.Sc. level in a science subject and ideally have experience of working within a microbiology laboratory,
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will ensure pharmaceutical products are fit for patient use by performing microbiological analyses on products, materials and on the environments in which they are prepared.

Carrying out Microbiological analyses on raw materials, in-process samples and finished pharmaceutical products, working where appropriate in pharmaceutical isolators and safety cabinets. The testing includes checking environmental monitoring plates for growth, identification of organisms to genus level, sterility testing, bioburden testing, growth promotion testing, preservative efficacy testing and container integrity testing
This post requires the post holder to occasionally travel (together with monitoring equipment) to hospitals within Merseyside and Cheshire. A current driving licence would therefore be advantage.
