Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Trust is looking to recruit a Band 6 Podiatrist to work across the Royal and Broadgreen sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated Podiatrist to join our small, friendly and dynamic team committed to delivering the very best podiatric care providing a range of foot health services, encompassing all aspects especially Diabetes.
The post holder will work across different sites supporting senior staff, treating patients with complex foot and ankle conditions in a variety of specialist clinics and wards.
The team is friendly and supportive and the Lead Podiatrist and Therapy Managers will provide clinical support and supervision. As a Band 6 Podiatrist you will be encouraged to develop your knowledge and skills and be involved in the clinical education of staff. You will work closely with the Diabetes MDT and wider Therapies department.
We have a comprehensive training programme and our staff are encouraged and supported in their CPD through workshops and clinical supervision. Participation in audit and research is encouraged.
The position is suitable for Podiatrist with at least 2 years' experience, especially in Diabetes. Applicants must be registered with the HCPC and have a degree or equivalent in Podiatry with a Local Anaesthesia certificate.
Main duties of the job
The main focus of this role is diabetic footcare, delivering specialist clinics, inpatient care and working within MDT clinics. There is also the opportunity to gain experience in musculoskeletal (MSK) triage services and rheumatology, as well as providing podiatry MSK assessment and treatment. You will be expected to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate podiatric care for a variety of clinical conditions. You will be required to have good understanding, clinical reasoning skills and practical skills in MSK / biomechanical assessment and orthotic prescriptions, vascular assessment, wound management and nail surgery.
