An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Aintree Site of Liverpool University Hospital Foundation Trust (LUHFT) for an experienced Recovery Practitioner.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated individual who has recovery experience to work within our busy theatre recovery areas.
Theatre services on the Aintree site cover emergency service over a 24 hour period. The service also includes elective activity from day surgery patients to those progressing to HDU post operatively, and from a wide range of specialties including Vascular, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Major Trauma, Head and Neck, ENT, Upper GI, Colorectal, Ophthalmology and interventional radiology to name a few. We are excited to welcome an experienced senior post anaesthetic care practitioner to our management team as a Band 6 Practitioner.
Our operating theatre departments are busy and dynamic. An environment setting the benchmark for clinical excellence.
Working across 4 Theatre departments, Aintree Hospital has 19 operating theatres. We also provide anaesthetic/recovery care in outlying areas such as, Endoscopy unit, Radiotherapy, etc.

Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit to complement our excellent team of Band 6 Practitioners. The successful candidate will provide strong clinical leadership on the quality agenda and will act as a role model whilst demonstrating a caring and compassionate leadership style, upholding the standards and values of the Recovery Practitioner profession at all times. We provide all staff with educational development through our departmental education team and promote an active coaching environment for all staff. Leadership skills and previous experience of working within Theatres are essential for this position.
The Theatres and anaesthetics department is a forward thinking innovative area to work in and for the right candidate will prove challenging but extremely rewarding. You will be expected to work on a flexible working shift pattern across our recovery areas, to support the area and work all shifts inclusive of late finishes, weekends, nights and on call. To ensure we provide senior cover to the department as well as providing a good quality patient experience and excellent patient care. The work-load throughout the department is very varied and interesting with no two days being the same. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills, a high sense of professionalism and a strong belief in the value of teamwork. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Clinical Director and the professional leadership of the Matron and Unit Manager.
