An exciting opportunity has arise for a Band 6 registered nurse to join our highly skilled and motivated workforce in the cardiac Day Case Unit based on the Aintree Site . We are looking for a dynamic , enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 to join our friendly multidisciplinary team.
we also perform a range of specialist cardiac interventions, including Angiogram as well as Permanent pacemaker implantations. we have one Lab with a recovery area , a Ambulatory Heart Failure Service.
The successful candidate would rotate between the cardiac catheter Labs assisting in number of different procedures, recovery area , Ambulatory Heart Failure service, pre clerking .
Cardiac Cath lab experience is required.

Main duties of the job
To participate in the effective running of the department
To provide nursing care in all areas - Cath lab, Day ward , Heart failure
To act as a scrub or circulating nurse during procedures
To act as and assistant during procedures carried out in the Cath lab
To participate in the daily running and management of the Cath lab workload
To insert peripheral cannula and take blood samples where required
To assist consultant operator in cath lab during insertion of Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) as required
o To ensure that all emergency and routine equipment is maintained in good working order. o To provide assistance to the surgical and anaesthetic teams as required. o To carry out safety checks of swabs, instruments and needles in conjunction with a second person in accordance with Trust/Local policy. o To undertake the following procedures as required, when training has been given. o Administration of intravenous drugs. o TR band placement. o Femstop deployment. o Removal of arterial and venous sheaths. o To maintain the highest standard of asepsis both in the preparation for, and the duration of the procedures. o To maintain accurate records of each procedure, by maintaining the Cath lab database procedure log. o Thoroughly check the details of a patient on arrival and again prior to any procedure starting in accordance with the WHO checklist o To provide a full support, explanation and education to a patient during their stay in the department.
