An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Inpatient Mental Health Service for aBand 4 Occupational Therapists Assistant Practitioner within Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Post is within Adult Learning Disability Community Services in Sandwell.
Main duties of the job
To accompany Occupational Therapists on complex assessments and assist to identify and co-ordinate outcomes including identifying safety issues and minimising risk.
To undertake complex clinical interventions as an OT technician, following initial assessment of the service user by a qualified Occupational Therapist.
To carry out therapeutic interventions, both 1:1 and group work, in accordance with Occupational Therapists' treatment plans.
To thoroughly understand the occupational therapy process in the adult learning disabilities setting, and the use of assessment tools and their outcomes used by the Occupational therapists
To be able to plan, implement and evaluate programmes of therapeutic activity within group and individual work within the frameworks laid down by the Occupational Therapists
