Job summary
We currently have a vacancy for a full-time Specialty Doctor to work with the Memory Assessment Services in Wolverhampton and Walsall Localities The post holder will work with Older Adult Consultant Psychiatrists, SAS Doctors and Junior / Trainee Doctors.predominantly working in the outpatient clinics and community with support from well-established Older Adult Memory Assessment Services. This vacancy has arisen due to the current post holder leaving the organisation to explore other career opportunities
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the consultant with outpatient clinics and community home visits or care home assessments, regular MDT meetings and management of emergencies all under the clinical supervision of consultant. The clinic intensity will vary depending on the complexity of the patients.

Older Adult Mental Health Services deliver multidisciplinary inpatient and community care for older adults with mental health conditions, underpinned by a person-centred and holistic model of care.Services operate across all four Black Country localities, with inpatient provision based in Walsall at the Dorothy Pattison Hospital Older Adult Unit, and at the newly refurbished Edward Street Hospital. These units provide specialist care for older adults with a range of mental health conditions, including functional illness and dementia.Exciting new developments include the Older Adult Hospital at Home Team and In-Reach to Care Home Team, enabling assessment and treatment in community settings and supporting admission avoidance where appropriate.

We have a good record of encouraging and supporting specialty doctors if their aim is to achieve postgraduate exams and go on to Higher Specialist Training. There are good opportunities for applicants interested in education and research. Specialty Doctors will cover on average 1:11 out of hours second on-call rota.
