Job summary

We are recruiting for a Clinical Lead Nurse who is passionate about providing care to patients with a history of offending behaviour as well as a diagnosis of a learning disability. You'll provide clinical leadership to our multi disciplinary Forensic Community Learning Disability Team (FCLDT) overseeing provision of evidence-based, innovative, care and training. The team is well resourced and enjoys the full range of multi disciplinary professionals, the team are based in the Sandwell area but serve the whole West Midlands region. Referrals typically come from prisons, secure health provision as well the locality Community learning Disability teams who form part of the division. The team is collectively supportive, recognises diversity and values leading with compassion. Main duties of the job

  • Managing a limited caseload, the post holder will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day safe and effective nursing provision, supporting a team of nurses with crisis and urgent care and implementing proactive nursing interventions to avert crises and minimise avoidable re-admissions.
  • Provide clinical and professional supervision to band 6 nurses in the teams and work alongside the Operational Team manager and other lead clinicians in specific clinical leadership responsibilities.
  • Support decision-making around complex cases and strategic planning as a key member of the multidisciplinary team. They will promote a culture of research and innovation to develop a 'knowledge-rich and inquiry-based' culture across the service, to increase capacity and capability in care delivery.
