Walsall Talking Therapies Service (NHS Talking Therapies)
- Please note this post is conditional on securing a training place with the university.
- Candidates must submit a 500 words assignment explaining "how can psychological practitioners ensure they are working inclusively with patients from diverse backgrounds.?"
Your submission will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
Knowledge and understanding of key issues (10 marks)
Presentation and ability to convey ideas coherently (10 marks)
Spelling, grammar and punctuation (5 marks)
The written exercise should be submitted by the candidate with their application as part of their supporting statement.

The Role
We are looking to recruit Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners within Walsall Talking Therapies Service to work in a well established clinical workforce of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners and High Intensity Psychological Therapy Practitioners.

About You
This role is looking for enthusiastic and passionate individuals looking to further their career in the mental health sector.
You must meet the followingessential criteria:
- For postgraduate programmes:undergraduate degree or evidence of previous successful study at Regulated Qualifications Framework Level 6; ORFor undergraduate programmes:Evidence of ability to study at Regulated Qualifications Framework Level 5.
- At least one year's experience in settings working directly with clients presenting with mental health difficulties, which can be through paid, voluntary, or through expertise gained by experience of supporting persons with mental health difficulties.
- Availability to attend all university teaching days weekly, and to attend practice placement with Walsall Talking Therapies Service on the remaining days in accordance with the programme timetable.
- Applicants should demonstrate evidence of good interpersonal skills, and openness to learn new skills and knowledge.
Please be aware that when applying for this post there is an expectation that the post-holder will apply for and complete the Psychological Therapies Practice PGCert training course with Coventry University (once in receipt of an offer after a successful interview at this stage). If the post-holder is unsuccessful in completing and qualifying in this course their employment contract will cease.

About the Service
Walsall Talking Therapies Service within the Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust provides NHS Talking Therapies (formerly IAPT) service to the local adult age population of Walsall.
The service offers a number of evidence-based psychological interventions both at step 2 and step 3 as proposed by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance. The service endeavours to offer the local population a full range of evidence-based psychological interventions, within a stepped care approach, to a high standard and quality .
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the team for two full-time Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (Trainee PWPs) to join and contribute to the innovation and success of our well-established NHS Talking Therapies service.
