Black Country Healthcare is looking for enthusiastic nurses in Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, and Wolverhampton who will provide compassionate, person-centred care to adults experiencing mental health difficulties. We offer rapid assessment and short term intensive treatmentin order to support individuals and their family/carers during a mental health crisis. Through a recovery approach, we aim to prevent hospital admission or to facilitate discharge from hospital.

We follow a multidisciplinary team approach, consisting of nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, non-medical prescribers, occupational therapists, and support time recovery workers. You will find our teams extremely supportive whilst you are growing into the role. We have a good team spirit, and great team work is at the heart of the service.

You will need to have relevant experience in either hospital or community settings, and have transferable skills for assessing mental health needs and risks, and formulating care plans for individuals who might be in a high level of distress with a variety of needs. You must hold a valid driver's licence, and must have a vehicle.

Main duties of the job

We currently have vacancies for Band 6 CPNs due to exciting service development & expansion. This provides an opportunity for an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse/Community Psychiatric Nurse to support and further develop our expanding Crisis Home Treatment Team. The post holder will work with a full Multi-Disciplinary Team to develop and provide a range of support to patients and their relatives. The successful candidates will need to be able to work effectively at a range of levels and situations. The post holder will require enthusiasm for service development and the ability to work with a complex and changing service therefore excellent communication and leadership skills are required.

Wolverhampton Crisis Home Treatment Team provides a service to a diverse multi-cultural population. The service is committed to delivering high quality safe care to service users with acute mental health symptoms. The team provides intensive levels to support to prevent hospital admissions and to facilitate early discharge. The service currently operates 24/7 365 days a year therefore nightshifts, weekends and bank holidays will be part of the shift pattern.
