An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, forward thinking, proactive and innovative Health Practitioner to join our existing dynamic team within the award winning Children's Autism Assessment Service.

Main duties of the job

The Children's Autism Assessment Service (CAAS) is based between the Ridge Hill Centre and Sunflower Centre in Dudley and includes a Team Leader, Health Visitor, Specialist Nursery Nurses, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Administrators.

About us

We provide a multi-disciplinary autism assessment provision in the under 5s in Dudley. Within our pathway we also work closely with Dudley CAMHs linking with their Child Psychotherapists, Dudley Educational Psychology services, Paediatrics, Health Visitors and the Integrated Early Year Service (IEYS).

Job description

Job responsibilities

The successful applicant will have extensive clinical experience and substantial knowledge within assessing and supporting children and their families on the Autism Spectrum, with complex needs and other conditions. They will provide and lead on specialist holistic assessments towards an Autism diagnosis as part of a wider Multi-disciplinary team and provide specialist support to children and their family throughout the assessment process. They must be able to provide leadership and supervision to other professionals and be able to manage caseloads and prioritise workloads to ensure deadlines are met. They must be self-motivated and be able to work autonomously.

The post is being offered on a part time (0.8 WTE) basis on a permanent contract.

Due to the nature of the work some posts may be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, through the Disclosure and Barring Service as stipulated under part V of the Police Act 1997.
