Job summary
We are looking to recruit a full-time 8a Highly Specialist Psychologist. The post holder will join our community based psychological therapies service for working age adults, who are based within secondary care services. You will work alongside our Community Mental Health Team in Walsall North and work in close liaison with a variety of other mental health professionals. Therefore confidence, strong communication skills and experience of working with Teams is essential. We are able to negotiate preceptorship terms for newly qualified staff who can start on Band 7 initially, and are open to negotiating alternative hours and flexible working patterns.
Main duties of the job
Our local population is both is highly diverse often also experiencing socio-economic difficulties. We offer therapy to those who frequently present with Complex PTSD and/or whom often attract a diagnosis of personality disorder. Therefore we are looking for people who are passionate about working directly with challenging and risky presentations and who are both willing and supported to really maximise their clinical skill set and develop new and innovative ways of working.
You will also develop complex formulations, offer supervision, consultancy, reflective practice groups and training to your CRS colleagues. We have strong links to the local Clinical and Counselling Psychology Doctorate courses and you will be encouraged to teach and take on trainees too.
Support will come directly from the 8b Clinical Lead within the area but also the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Team manager. You will have access to clinical, professional and management supervision. We have access to a healthy training budget, as well as access to Health Education England training opportunities. About us
Members of our wider psychology team have broad therapeutic interests ranging from psychodynamic to systemic/narrative and cognitive-behavioural models as well as expertise in consultancy, supervision and training and form a supportive network for staff. We are well lead by the Divisional Lead Psychologist and the Director of Therapies, thus offering Psychology and AHP staff closer and more direct ties to the Trust Board. The Trust is currently going through Service Transformation, which is leading to many new opportunities and ways of working. We also have a strong commitment to the Wellbeing of all our staff and working in accordance to Trust values.
