Job summary
We are recruiting for a Non-Executive Director to serve on the Board at Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This is an excellent opportunity to share your expertise and skills to make a positive difference to the communities we serve.
The Non-Executive Director will work with the Chair and other Executive and Non-Executive colleagues as a voting member of the Board. You will also work in partnership with the Assembly of Governors who are charged with holding the Non-Executive Directors to account for the performance of the Board of Directors.
Main duties of the job
You will need to have a genuine commitment to patients and the delivery of high quality care to all service users. You will be someone who is passionate about representing the needs of the diverse communities across the Black Country.
We are seeking a person with:
Clinical expertise, as a current or retired registered Medical professional
Understanding of the NHS Regulatory framework, particularly relating to CQC and NHSE
an ability to work with the Assembly of Governors
an understanding of the Black Country community
demonstrable empathy towards, service users of the Trust.
About us
The Trust was formed on 1 April 2020 through a merger between Black Country Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. On 1 July 2022 the Trust became the Lead Provider for Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism in the Black Country.
Since then, we have continued to develop and respond to our changing environment and improve the offer for the population we serve. We became one of the first systems in the country to take on full lead provider/commissioner responsibilities for locally commissioned mental health (MH), learning disability and autism (LDA) services, and since then we have continued to lead the expansion and transformation of Black Country MH/LDA services.
We provide specialist mental health, learning disability, and community healthcare services for the population of the Black Country.
Across the whole of the region we provide:
- Adult and older adult mental health services.
- Specialist learning disability services.
- Mental health services for children and young people.
The Trust has over 3,500 staff operating from over 65 sites including inpatient hospitals and community settings across the four boroughs of the Black Country.
