Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust have an excellent opportunity available for a time served Painter & Decorator to join our in house Estates Team. You will have a significant backgroundin the Painting & Decoration of commercial and public sector buildings as well as being competent in general repair and up keep of such properties.Please see the job description and personal specification attached which details the requirements of role.
Main duties of the job
1. Legionellae: Whole site responsibilities to include Legionellae monitoring i.e. water usage and remedies, temperature checks, record keeping both electronic and paper records - reporting to and liaising with Supervisor. Also to include chlorination of storage tanks and systems.
2. Plant and Services: Carry out safety checks on all site plant and services,reporting leaks, faults, etc., for rectification. Also to consider and report health and safety implications.
3. Planned Preventive Maintenance: Working with P.P.M. consultant to achieve working plan for services inspection and safety in order to implement and carry out a strict P.P.M. regime.
4. Confidential Waste: To carry out confidential waste collection and disposal working with and liaising with contractor to maintain a secure system for the disposal of sensitive records and documents.
5. Drainage: Keeping all sewerage and water disposal systems running, clearing blockages as and when required, aided by contractor if needed, supervising and organising contractor if necessary

Essential
- GCSE in Maths and English at level 4 or 5 (grade C or above)
- functional skills level 2
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in a construction related discipline.
Desirable
- IPAF, PASMA, Abrasive wheels, Asbestos awareness etc.
- Specific Healthcare training and qualifications
Experience and Knowledge
Essential
- Experience of working unsupervised in repair and maintenance activities.
- Understand and demonstrate basic competency and safe working practices (electrical, plumbing/mechanical and building) .
Desirable
- Completion of a registered apprenticeship or structured training program in Building or Construction for a minimum of 3 years.
- Awareness of Health & Safety Legislation and safe systems of work (Permits)
- Demonstrable proficiency in use of basic computer software and hand held devices.
- Repair and maintenance in a healthcare environment
- Experience of testing fire alarms and/or safety and stand by systems/equipment
- Experience of water hygiene testing regimes
