Introducing an exciting opportunity to expand the existing team welcoming 2 new F/T Instructor Members to the Mental Health First Aid training team. The post holder will be an experienced MHFA Instructor Member with the minimum of the most recent MHFA and Mental Health Aware delivery upskill. Since the Trust has moved to a Lead Provider Model, the strategy includes developing excellent mental health care to support Black Country communities across the Integrated Care System. Expanding the team enables us with the provision of offering MHFA training on a wider scale to support voluntary and Third Sector organisations to reduce individuals reaching crisis point by increasing awareness, skills, knowledge and signposting in community locations.The MHFA team delivers a range of training from MHFA and Youth MHFA, Mental Health Aware, Refresher, Mental Health Skills for Managers and Suicide First Aid with the fundamental aim of teaching the skills to listen, reassure and respond, even in times of crisis. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of MHFA training products to the Black Country community and voluntary/Third Sector organisations and private businesses.
Main duties of the job
Following the guidance of the MHFA England instructor kit to maintain a high quality and safe learning environment for those who choose Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as a preferred training provider. To act on own initiative according to the group of learners while meeting the needs of the training outcomes. Carry out necessary risk assessments when setting up face to face training to align with learner requests, where possible. Liaise with team administrator to ensure that communication between team and learners are of the highest standard. Prioritising own time management to meet the needs of training delivery and manage ongoing CPD. The post holder will have responsibility for data input of training outcomes and will contribute towards representing the team training offer on a wider scale at community networking events. This includes offering discounted MHFA courses across the system, widening the engagement development and to fulfil an opportunity to offer a post training intervention and peer support. Additional Instructor Members will allow the team to strengthen and increase the capacity to meet the ongoing demand. The expanded team structure will drive stronger data collection to measure impact, track health inequalities and health equity data, and will provide greater business intelligence for KPI dashboards at a local and system level.
