We are looking to recruit a Learning Disability Nurse to join the Sandwell Community Nursing Team.

Main duties of the job
Do you have the drive to join an experienced and highly motivated multi-disciplinary team of clinicians to deliver responsive and effective services?
The successful candidate will have knowledge of adults with learning disabilities and will have the opportunity to develop skills and expertise. You will join a supportive and experienced multi-disciplinary team and offer a range of interventions which will include assessment and the delivery of evidence based interventions. There will be opportunities to develop expertise in community nursing and explore specialist interests. There is a strong commitment to professional support including reflective practice, supervision and CPD.
The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent inter-personal and communication skills, a positive attitude to working with people with learning disabilities and a strong person centred value base. You will need to be motivated, patient and possess a caring and empathic attitude. The candidate will have a dedicated role to assess, clinically manage, care co-ordinate and support adult with learning disabilities and their families as part of routine and urgent clinical work, including completing specialist assessments.
The successful candidate will be required to work unsupervised in a variety of settings and therefore the ability to assess risk, use their own initiative, and manage their own time effectively is essential.
