Early Intervention in Psychosis Peer Support Worker

Job summary
The role of Peer Support Worker (PSW) has been developed specifically for people who have lived experience of first episode of psychosis. Through sharing wisdom from their own experiences, Peer Support Workers will promote inspiring hope and the belief that recovery is possible for those who are using our service.
The Early Intervention in Psychosis service is made up of a friendly, supportive and experienced team, based close to West Bromwich town centre. If you have experienced first episode of psychosis and would like to be part of the recovery of others we would like to hear from you!
Main duties of the job
- To establish supportive and respectful relationships with people using EIP
- To provide peer support whilst maintaining professional boundaries
- To help people identify their own Recovery goals
- To support service users to identify and overcome fears within a relationship of empathy and trust
- To liaise with carers, other health professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies to enable the Recovery needs of the service user group to be met
- To follow the principles and values of Recovery.
- To co-facilitate Group work and individual support in the community and on wards as required.
