Job summary

To support a caseload of clients with mental health and other health conditions to to provide pre-employment support for our client group who are furthest away from the job market and help to move them closer to employment, in the hope that these achievements aid individuals' recovery. Providing practical support in terms of compiling CVs, application forms, preparing for interviews, finding suitable training, volunteering opportunities and engaging with services in their local community.

Main duties of the job

Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation is recruiting 1 WTE Vocational Specialist. You will be required to proactively engage with and manage a caseload of people who have experienced mental health problems who are unemployed, economically inactive or at risk of redundancy. You will have advanced interpersonal skills and will be able to communicate at all levels to engage with the hardest to engage target groups. You will network with a range of partners across the Black Country to ensure vocational opportunities are maximised for our client group.

We are looking to recruit a Vocational Specialist to deliver on our Bridge service which covers the whole of the Black Country.

You will be required to proactively engage with and manage a caseload of people who have experienced mental health problems who are unemployed, economically inactive or at risk of redundancy. You will have advanced interpersonal skills and will be able to converse at all levels.

You will be working in the multi-disciplinary team with service users with multiple complex needs identifying and supporting them to overcome barriers so that they are able to move into employment and sustain this or other recovery and social inclusion goals, in conjunction with key stakeholders. This would include educational, voluntary work and pre-vocational training opportunities, and support for employers on reasonable adjustments and retention of employees where necessary.
