Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
This job is now closed
Job summary
We are looking for someone who has a broad knowledge, understanding and experience of the breadth of expression found within Christianity, to join our Spiritual Care Team as a Chaplain. To maintain the diversity needed within the team we strongly encourage applications from women for this post.
Main duties of the job
The Trust has a well-established Spiritual Care Team which is diverse on many levels including faith, belief, spirituality, ethnicity, age, sexuality, gender and life experience. The demographic we serve here in the Black Country is also very diverse, particularly in terms of ethnicity, faith, belief and cultural background. What we hold in common as a Team is a desire to be inclusive and responsive in our approach to those we encounter, whether that be patients, carers or staff, and to work flexibly with needs and strengths as they arise, whether they are of a spiritual, religious or cultural nature or have elements of all three.
We are looking for someone who is: committed to working in a deeply compassionate and affirming way helping people to explore their spirituality or practice their faith; feels at home in a multi-faith team caring for people with diverse backgrounds who have mental health needs or learning disabilities; wants to work collaboratively with other members of the Team to contribute to the development of creative, contemporary spiritual healthcare across the Trust and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Members of the Team are based in West Bromwich but would be expected to work at a number of inpatient sites, and within the community, throughout the Black Country.
