Job summary
A golden and rare opportunity has arisen to join a male acute ward (Clent) at Bushey Fields hospital. The role will involve overseeing patient care and safety, driving quality, supporting and providing leadership to junior staff, and to support the ward manager.

Reports To: Ward Manager
Directorate/Department: Mental Health Acute Inpatient Services
Salary Range: Band 6
Main duties of the job
To manage a very busy and dynamic ward with an established management team.
To work with, promote and contribute to the development of appropriate models of inpatient care.
To contribute to the assessment of care needs, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care within the context of the care programme approach.
To provide supervision and clinical leadership to junior nursing staff, to ensure effective delivery of programmes of care for the patients on the caseload.
To report and identify service deficit limitations/development opportunity to senior colleagues.
To monitor the well being of patients and contribute to the development of practice in relation to protecting individuals whose health and well being is at risk.
To ensure effective communication with the multi disciplinary team, service users and carers about programmes of care and routine or complex matters
To manage safeguarding and complex case management on a busy male acute ward.
Will have opportunity to to undertake managerial duties such as rota management, audit improvement.
To deputise in the absence of the ward manager as required.
To carry out the senior nurse role when required across site.
Provide leadership whilstintegrating the trust vision and values in to the working practices of the team.
